Hello! I am an energetic and passionate web and print designer currently finishing my BFA at the University of Oregon.

My artistic influences:

I've always loved painting and was accepted into an exchange program through the Art Department at the University of Oregon in the summer of 2002. This month-long program in the gorgeous countryside of Siena, Italy, was an incredible artistic influence on me as I painted and drew for over five hours each day. We enjoyed guided tours through Florence, were enriched by incredible museums and also spent afternoons hiking to secluded towns. The beauty of nature and the depth and complexity of organic shapes definitely plays a key part in my personal style.

Another artistic influence has been typography classes at the University of Oregon. I have taken a digital letterform class as well as a traditional letterpress class. Focusing on the nuances of typography in these courses increased my design skills in all areas.

Though I do have a specific personal style, I always push myself to explore other methods of design and other visual languages. I tailor each of my projects to the needs of my client and for what best suits the intended target audience.

My personality:

I am very friendly, dedicated, and hard-working. I pride myself in my warm professional demeanor and ability to set people at ease.

Rock climbing, reading, volunteering, dancing, and spending quality time with my friends are my favorite activities.

My current projects:

The aim of my BFA project is to create a successful marketing campaign for informing teenagers about birth control. Learn more about my project here.

A web site project of mine, the Awesomeness Project, is based around world news, philanthropy, and trying to encourage an informed and activist public.

My life:

My childhood was spent in Washington, then I attended college in Oregon, and now I plan to move to California after I graduate. I think this southward trend has something to do with wanting to move away from the abundance of rain.

I love pets, especially cats, but since I have an apartment that doesn't allow cats, I bought an adorable pet bird, Niko, pictured at the right. He adds a lot of light, energy (and chirping!) to my life.
